A workshop to build capacity for aquatic invasive species (AIS) data best practices
in the Upper Mississippi River Basin

October 8 & 10, 2024 – 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. CT

This is a no-cost, facilitated online workshop focused on developing two outputs: (1) a position paper on critical challenges for cross-sector aquatic invasive species (AIS) data management and sharing, and (2) a research development roadmap to kickstart proposal planning and teaming for the AIS data community. Participants (approx. 30) will be experts in AIS data from academia; Extension; U.S. federal, state, and local government agencies; tribal governments; nonprofit, civic, and citizen science organizations; and industry.

Pre-workshop community input

AIS professionals are invited to contribute to our pre-meeting input process, which will help shape the discussions at the workshop and the research development roadmap. We are interested in your AIS data challenges, use cases, and best practices. This input process is open to anyone working in AIS, whether they attend the meeting or not, so please feel free to share with colleagues.
