This year, there are three sessions at the MBDH Regional Community Meeting focused on student interests. These are open to all students in the 12-state Midwest region, and registration is free:

Data Science Research Presentations

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 – 3:00–4:00 p.m. CT / 4:00–5:00 p.m. ET
Thursday, October 28, 2021 – 1:00–1:45 p.m. CT / 2:00–2:45 p.m. ET


This session provides a venue for students at all levels to present their data science-related research to the MBDH community.

Student Mentoring Session

Track b: Thursday, October 28, 2021 – 3:00–3:45 p.m. CT / 4:00–4:45 p.m. ET


This session is focused on helping students from any discipline and at any level understand the ways they can add a data science element to their training and career goals. This session is open to all students in the 12-state Midwest region, and will have a panel of data science experts to talk about opportunities and answer questions.

Registration for this event is free. Please check the box on the registration form to indicate you plan to attend this session.

Student Networking Session

Track b: Wednesday, October 27, 2021 – 4:15–5:00 p.m. CT / 5:15–6:00 p.m. ET


This session is open to all students in the 12-state Midwest region to talk with each other and other meeting attendees about data science topics. Come meet new collaborators and find out what your peers are working on across multiple disciplines.
