Marketplace of Ideas and Innovations Sessions

Participants are invited to submit work for sharing with colleagues at the workshop via two planned “Marketplace of Ideas and Innovations” sessions. Held over meals, they will provide an opportunity to share and discuss the neat things you might already be doing in your classrooms.

Call for Contributions—D4G4ED (please submit your contribution to data4good.workshop@gmail.com):

There are two options to submit under: “Lesson Plans” and “Project Impact Reports.”

• 1. Lesson Plans for up to 3 days’ worth of class time
      Required Elements:
           a. One-paragraph (300 words) abstract that summarizes goals and approach of plans
           b. Student learning outcomes to be achieved
           c. Assumed (pre)knowledge or course content
           d. Lecture/Class time outline, including any needed examples, slides, code, etc.
      Optional Elements:
           e. Pre-class assignment(s) (e.g., readings, worksheets, etc.)
           f. Post-class learning assessments or assignments
  2. Project Impact Reports
      Required Elements:
           a. One-paragraph description of the project and outcomes
           b. Statement of the course or student context (independent research, class projects, capstones)
           c. Student (learning) goals
           d. Suggestions and recommendations for replication
      Optional Elements:
           e. Partner(s) and/or Data Source(s)—If shareable
           f. Partner goals for the project—If shareable
           g. A brief discussion of what went well and what to improve
